After a turbulent year, we’ve all come together as one big family and we’re stronger than ever.
We’ve realised nothing can break the bond that the Syren family has.
We have it all.
Only on a personal level, I don’t have it all.
I’m happy that my boys have found the love of their lives, but at the same time, I want to scream at them - tell them that I was that happy once....
I gave up the one girl who I loved unconditionally to follow my dream with the band, I promised her I would go back for her.
I failed in keeping that promise.
When a new member is added to the Syren workforce my world and heart is crushed, I always thought I had time to make amends.
Turns out, time wasn’t on my side this time.
Melissa
Landing this job was supposed to be a new start for me, I knew I would have to face him eventually.
But how am I supposed to tell him that she’s dead?
That I’m here to break his heart, yet mend my own at the same time.
Liam Williams left, leaving everyone else to pick up the pieces in his wake.
I’m angry. I’m hurt and at the same time I’m grieving… crying on his shoulder is that last thing I want to do!!!

Blog Tour: Caught Up in a Cowboy by Jennie Marts + Giveaway

Caught Up in a Cowboy
(Cowboys of Creedenca #1)
by Jennie Marts
Publication Date: May 1st, 2018
Genre: Contemporary Western

This cowboy plays to win

Rackfor James was raised as a tried-and-true cowboy in a town crazy about ice hockey. Rack is as hot on the ice as he is on a hourse, and the NHL snapped him up. Now, injuries have permanently benched him. Body and pride wounded, he returns to his hometown ranch to find that a lot has changed. The one thing that hasn't? His feelings for hight school sweetheart and girl-next-door Quinn Rivers.

Quinn had no choice but to get over Rack after he left. Teenaged and heartbroken, she had a rebound one night stand that ended in single motherhood. Now that Rack's back - and clamoring for a second chance. Quinn will do anything to avoid getting caught up in this oh-so-tempting couwboy.

He snuck a glance at her as he drove past the barn. Her wavy hair was pulled back in a ponytail, but wisps of it had come loose and fell across her neck in little curls. She looked good—really good. A thick chunk of regret settled in his gut, and he knew letting her go had been the biggest mistake of his life.
It wasn’t the first time he’d thought it. Images of Quinn haunted his dreams, and he often wondered what it would be like now if only he’d brought her with him instead of leaving her behind. If he had her to wave to in the stands at his games or to come home to at night instead of an empty house. But he’d screwed that up, and he felt the remorse every time he returned to Rivers Gulch.
He’d been young and arrogant—thought he had the world by the tail. Scouts had come sniffing around when he was in high school, inflating his head and his own self-importance. And once he started playing in the big leagues, everything about this small town—including Quinn—had just seemed…well…small. Too small for a big shot like him.
He was just a kid—and an idiot. But by the time he’d realized his mistake and come back for her, it was too late.
Hindsight was a mother.
And so was Quinn.
Easing the car up in front of the house, he took in the festive balloons and streamers tied to the railings along the porch. So much of the house looked the same, the long porch that ran the length of the house, the wooden rocking chairs, and the swing hanging from the end.
They’d spent a lot of time on that swing, his arm around her, talking and laughing, as his foot slowly pushed them back and forth.
She opened the car door, but he put a hand on her arm and offered her one of his most charming smiles. “It’s good to see you, Quinn. You look great. Even in a pirate outfit.”
Her eyes widened and she blinked at him, for once not having a sarcastic reply. He watched her throat shift as she swallowed, and he yearned to reach out and run his fingers along her slender neck.
“Well, thanks for the lift.” She turned away and stepped out of the car.
Pushing open his door, he got out and reached for the bicycle, lifting it out of the back seat before she had a chance. He carried it around and set it on the ground in front of her. “I’d like to meet him. You know, Max. If that’s okay.”
“You would?” Her voice was soft, almost hopeful, but still held a note of suspicion. “Why?”
He ran a hand through his hair and let out a sigh. He’d been rehearsing what he was going to say as they drove up to the ranch, but now his mouth had gone dry. The collar of his cotton T-shirt clung to his neck, and he didn’t know what to do with his hands.
Dang—he hadn’t had sweaty palms since he was in high school. He wiped them on his jeans. He was known for his charm and usually had a way with women, but not this woman. This one had him tongue-tied and nervous as a teenager.
He shoved his hands in his pockets. “Listen Quinn, I know I screwed up. I was young and stupid and a damn fool. And I’m sorrier than I could ever say. But I can’t go back and fix it. All I can do is move forward. I miss this place. I miss having you in my life. I’d like to at least be your friend.”
She opened her mouth, and he steeled himself for her to tell him to go jump in the lake. Or worse. But she didn’t. She looked up at him, her eyes searching his face, as if trying to decide if he was serious or not. “Why now? After all these years?”
He shrugged, his gaze drifting as he stared off at the distant green pastures. He’d let this go on too long, let the hurt fester. It was time to make amends—to at least try. He looked back at her, trying to express his sincerity. “Why not? Isn’t it about time?”
She swallowed again and gave a small nod of her head. A tiny flicker of hope lit in his gut as he waited for her response.
He could practically see her thinking—watch the emotions cross her face in the furrow of her brow and the way she chewed on her bottom lip. Oh man, he loved it when she did that—the way she sucked her bottom lip under her front teeth always did crazy things to his insides.
“Okay. We can try being friends.” She gave him a sidelong glance, the hint of a smile tugging at the corner of her mouth. “On one condition.”

Uh oh. Conditions were never good.

Book Review: Her Highlander's Desire by A K Michaels

My Review:

Geri Wilder is really good at matching up soul mates, I mean she is really good even across continents good! That's why Tanya in the US teams up with Kirsty in Scotland to see if Geri can match up Tanya's friend Ali and Kirsty 's Beta Dara.

Alinka aka Ali never thought she'd leave the country, never mind travel as far as Scotland! But with her Alpha and his mate's blessing, that's where she finds herself. Mind you she thinks she's going on a kind of cultural exchange, not a mate hunt! Ali is over the moon ecstatic that she's on a plane headed for Scotland, it was on her bucket list.

Dara has always been a cool, calm and collected Beta, but this bonnie lass from the States has his head in a jumble he's even talking in his native gaelic around her and what's worse is that he has to have her in his home for a full 2 weeks! His wolf keeps snapping at him whenever he even thinks of staying away from her.

Dara and Ali both when they first met just thought it was lust at first site but it takes others to make them see the light.

I love how the Alphas from both packs contacted Gerri about one of their pack members who needed to find their mate. Highly recommend you read this book. It's a great story and its a crossover two series A Wolf's Hunger and Paranormal Dating Agency. I know some think that quick reads are not action packed but let me tell you that is not the case here. This book grabbed my interest from the start and held it all the way through.

Who knew that Gaelic could be so sexy! I think I need to go to Scotland and find me a man and learn Gaelic hehe.

Book Review: Lycan Her Mate by Bella Roccaforte

My Review:

This is my first book by this author and it won't be my last. This is Emma and Zane's story.

Zane is half human and half wolf shifter making him a half breed wolf. He seems to be attractived to trouble. His father was the Alpha until Ryland challenged him and killed him. Zane's best friend and fellow pack member ends up contacting Gerri to see what is wrong with him and finds he is going through the Hungry. His Alpha powers are developing and he needs to find his mate and claim her.

Emma has always been shy and attracts the worst types of men. She wants a relationship like her friend Jenn who is moving to New Mexico with her shifter mate. Jenn gives her Gerri Wilder's card and tells her to call and Gerri will match her up with someone. Gerri sees she is Zane's mate when she asks what she wants in a mate.

I loved this story. Emma is a strong and sassy woman. This story has a lot of action. Great story and I highly recommend it.

Is Emma willing to move to his pack? Will Zane kill Ryland and become the Alpha? You will have to read the book to find out.

EXCERPT

I stayed to help Logan clean up after dinner, but he wouldn’t let me do any work. He made me a cup of the tea I loved, and I just hung out, leaning over the large island in the kitchen and making jokes while he washed and put dishes away.
“Why do you drink that stuff anyways? You know it’s still a stimulant,” he said about my tea. He’d been ridiculing it, saying that it tasted like sewage, which was actually pretty funny because my best friend, Julia, says that same thing.
“Coffee is too acidic. I prefer to be in a more alkaline state,” I replied and immediately regretted my words, realizing what a snooty, basic, rich girl I sounded like.
“It sounds like you’ve never had good coffee then,” he said. “Your grandmother has a nice cappuccino maker and some decent looking Italian coffee.”
“I’ve only had coffee once when I was younger. I had a sip of my dad’s one morning before work and not only did it taste awful, but it burned my mouth. Plus, my dad yelled at me for it,” I confessed.
“Well, you definitely haven’t had good coffee then. Here, I’ll make you some,” he said and fired on the cappuccino maker. The thing buzzed and roared and whizzed while Logan pressed buttons and poured this and that into that and this. I had no idea what he was doing but the result was a small cup of frothy, warm, brown liquid with a little heart drawn in the middle of the foam.
“Wow, this looks amazing. I almost don’t want to drink it,” I said, but I took a sip anyways. I expected a hot, bitter taste to fill my mouth, but the thick liquid was warm and sweet. The smell had a musky yet floral smell to it that made me feel cozy somehow, even though it was a warm evening in Los Angeles. “This is so good,” I said.
Logan smiled at me and reached his hand up to my face. He ever so gently, brushed his thumb across my lips. Heat and energy rushed between us at the feel of his touch. I felt my stomach melt; my heart boom and I suddenly couldn’t remember how to breath. “Sorry, you had foam on your lips,” he said.
He made himself a cup and we sat in the kitchen, reminiscing about our childhood. Honestly, though, I barely listened to what he was saying. I couldn’t keep my mind away from the electricity that I suddenly felt. Was it always there and I was just too blind to see it?
After a few minutes of talking in the kitchen, I felt a rush of energy and had an idea. “Why don’t we go for a run!”
“Damn, I should’ve made decaf. You have a caffeine high,” Logan said and laughed. His laugh sounded sweet and musical coming from his booming, sexy voice. I can’t believe I never noticed what an amazing laugh he had. “I think it’s a little late for a run.”
“A swim, then,” I said. Suddenly, the prospect of swimming at night was the best idea in the world and I ran upstairs to change into my bathing suit.
“I don’t know, Stacey,” Logan called after me.
“I do know, Logan. Let’s go swimming. We used to do it all the time when we were kids, remember?”
“I don’t have anything to swim in,” he protested, but I wasn’t going to let him off the hook that easily. I wanted to see more of that body.
Instead of rushing to my room, I found Bronson’s. He had gone out for the night and probably wouldn’t be back until early in the morning, if at all, so I didn’t think anything of waltzing in there.
The stench of sweat and heat assaulted my nose. I tried to avoid all the dirty clothes on the floor, but there was such a large pile, it was hard not to step on a few pairs of underwear. With no one working at the house to take care of the cleaning, we were all left to fend for ourselves and it was clear that Bronson had no clue what it meant to tidy up or knew the word laundry.
I dug around in his dresser drawer, found a clean pair of swimming trunks and bolted out of there before the smell stuck to me. “Here!” I yelled to Logan as I tossed the trunks to him. “Meet me at the pool.”
I rushed to my room and found my bathing suits. Julia had laughed at me when I began packing them, but I told her that my grandmother had a pool that I intended to take full advantage of. It was a good thing I ignored her laughing, too, because swimming with Logan was exactly what I needed to do right now and there was nothing stopping me.
LOGAN
Playing tennis was one thing but swimming? Swimming? I had to draw the line somewhere and swimming was it. Yes, Stacey and I would swim every summer when we were kids. Gladys didn’t like me swimming in her pool, so we opted for a public one. Usually it was at some country club Stacey’s family was a part of (I have no idea how Stacey managed to get me in). She didn’t know how much the other kids would point and make fun of me at the pool, though. They kept it to themselves around her, of course. Everyone wanted to impress Stacey Holiday. When she wasn’t looking, though? I was enemy number one.
I spent most of my pool time with my shirt glued to my body. Stacey would try to convince me to take it off but even she couldn’t make me. Now, here I was, wearing her brother’s shorts, shirt glued to my body, sitting by the pool. At least it was dark, and no kids were around to point and laugh. That’s one thing no one tells you about losing weight, no matter how much you lose and how great you look after working so hard, the voices and laughs and stares of your past live on like ghosts in your head. When Stacey came out wearing a red bikini, though, even those ghosts shut themselves up and stared.
“Of course, you’re wearing a shirt,” she said.
“Why wouldn’t I?”
“Because, you said you’d show me more of that chiseled body of yours earlier and I’d like to see it.” She pulled at my shirt. Crap. I did say something about taking my shirt off, didn’t I? Why did I say that? Why was I trying to show off?
With a reluctant sigh, I pulled my shirt over my head and stood in front of Stacey. Our bodies were close, almost touching. Her eyes lingered on my body the way I do to her sometimes. “Wow,” she said.
She stepped closer to me and I felt the energy, the heat and desire rise between us. She raised her hands and put them on my chest. Her touch felt soft, smooth and electrified my body. I wanted her to touch every inch of me the way I would touch every inch of her. I almost put my hand on her hips and pulled her in to me, but she never gave me the chance. She smiled up at me as she pushed me, and I went flying backwards into the pool.
She laughed as I made my way up to the surface just in time for her to yell “CANNON BALL!” and she leapt into the air, landing in the water with a loud splash as water exploded around her.
We splashed water at each other and laughed for a while. Finally, settled and just floated on the surface of the pool. The light emanating from below cast a brilliant blue on her soft, pale skin and golden hair. “Why did we ever stop doing this?” she asked.
“I don’t know. I guess we just grew apart,” I said.
She stood up in the pool and moved closer to me. I did the same and backed into the steps of the shallow end of the pool and she sat beside me. “I’m sorry,” she said, suddenly with a serious tone.
“You have nothing to be sorry for. Besides, I’m just glad I’m here now.”
“Me too,” she said, and she did something that I had only ever thought she would do in my dreams. She wrapped her arms around my neck, lifted herself to meet my gaze and kissed me on the lips.

Book Review: Call of the Wolf by R. Murray

My Review:

Call of the Wolf is the first book in the Dark Blood Trilogy. This book sucked me in from the start. In the book we are introduced to 2 witch sister's Emilia and Melaina who have been chosen by the most powerful vampire family to be given the gift of immortality. Both sister's choosing to walk down different paths. Melaina embraces the darkness that consumes her soul while her sister Emilia does her best to use her power to help people by being a healer.
This book has Vampires, Werewolves, Witches and different POVs that make it interesting. I loved the twists and turns. I really enjoyed this story and can't wait for the next book in the trilogy.

Book Review: Destined Hearts by K.K. Allen

My Review:

The book picks up from when Dangerous Hearts finished. If you haven't read the first book, stop reading this review right now and go pick it up!!

I enjoyed this book to the max and the conclusion to Lyric and Wolf’s story rocked. Lyric crushed Wolf with her departure, and it hurt her soul to do so. These two have been through the ringer, and outside forces seem to always get in the way. Between an asshole ex, a douche manager, and a lyric stealing mother, Lyric and Wolf had to navigate through rough waters to find their way back to each other. The author gives you a front row seat to the sometimes crazy world of rock stars.

Highly recommended for everyone who likes to experience the full range of emotions while reading a romance novel.

Book Review: Dangerous Hearts by K.K. Allen

My Review:

This is my first book by this author and it won't be my last.

It is currently 12:10am on the 7th March as I write this. I just finished the book and I don't care it's after midnight I NEED to know what happens next so I am going to go start Destined Hearts now and will finish this review sometime today.

Lyric Cassidy has always been surrounded by music. Both her parents are musicians and I guess you can say that Lyric's love for music comes from deep within her veins. She's a song writer, she only writes music that never see the light of day because she's not interested in the spotlight. She got a job as tour manager for a record company. Her last tour ended badly when her boyfriend of two years cheated on her with her best friend. Tired of heartache she has sworn off from ever hooking up with another Rockstar, she is DONE! That of course is until she meets the one and only Wolf in person. Writing music is her way of dealing with the emotions inside her heart. From the moment they meet sparks fly but they both immediately reject the strong reaction. Wolf can tell that Lyric is a good girl who is looking for a prince charming and he is anything but that, and Lyric simply can go through another Rockstar romance that will for sure break her heart.

For Wolf Chapman, having fun and rocking out is life. Going from one girl to the next is his MO and no one can change him. That is until Lyric, literally, crashes into him at full speed. Wolf can sense the change within himself but refuses to believe that he wants more from Lyric then just one night. He can't seem to stay away from her though she's made her intentions clear: there will be nothing between them. So why can't Wolf move on? Why does the bad boy rocker want to reveal to Lyric he's not so "bad"?

I could never put the book down I stayed up late just to finish it. Thanks for writing an amazing story. I can't wait to start book 2.

Book Review: Syren's Heaven & Hell by Jennah Thornhill

My Review:

This book follows on from book 1. After a rough start, Connor and Allie's relationship goes from strength to strength, the connection between them totally consuming, they are definitely all in. The culprit of all the threats and attack is someone you don't expect which keeps you guessing the whole time.

And the ending. I cried. I hated Jennah for a moment with one part. I was desperately hoping for a good ending but I never expected one THAT good. I honestly have never read a book with so many twists and turns, to have you wondering if they are actually going to get there HEA. I can't wait for more of Karina and Johnny in book 3.

Book Review: Syren's Angel by Jennah Thornhill

My Review:

This is the first book from this author and it won't be my last. It is also the authors debut.

I absolutely loved it. It had me hooked from the start right till the end and also wanting more after I finished it.

I loved the instant attraction between Allie and Conner. At first she is a shy girl bit she comes out of herself. Conner well he is your bad boy rock star. What's more to love then that.

They both have there secrets that comes out and threatens to destory them, but you know they are meant to be together.

The book is filled with so many emotions it made me laugh and feel so much for the characters.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. It leaves on a cliffhanger and I can't wait to read book 2 and see what will come next in the series. Well done on a great debut.

Book Review: Jingle My Balls by Jordan Marie and Jenika Snow

My Review:

I found this book because of the hot cover model Jonny James. It is my first book by both authors.

Nick’s company specializes in adult fantasies. So, when a lonely red-haired lady asks for a Santa to hold her for one night. Nick makes sure that she will have her wish. Of course there will be a misunderstanding and Nick will meet the wrong lady, but this doesn’t matter. When Nick tries to meet his customer again because he can’t stop thinking about her, he will realize that he made a mistake and now maybe he will never see Holly again.

I never thought that dirty Santa Claus role-playing would be that hot.

It was well written and well paced. Both of the man characters were likable. This is one holiday story you can't not want to read.
