Book Review: Ride For Me by VR Baucke

My Review:

This was my first book by this author and it won't be my last. 'Ride For Me' is the first book in The North Shore Crew series and is Lil and Gage's story.

Immediately fell in love with Lil, like the first meeting of her and her damn sass of an attitude made me laugh added with the clumsy way she first meets Gage.

This book starts 4 months in the future so the prologue is a little confusion but it all makes sense as you read through the rest of the story.

Gage and Lil are two people who have experienced loss and pain in the past and they found each other when they both needed it most and were able to mend their hearts and break down the walls they both built up for themselves.

I can’t wait to read the next book!! I LOVE everyone of the Crew and I hope to see more of everyone in the near future.

Blog Tour: Guitar Face Series by Sasha Marshall + Giveaway

Broken
The Guitar Face Series Book 1
by Sasha Marshall
Genre: New Adult Romance

2016 SIBA HUMOR AND NEW ADULT WINNER!

Guitar Face rocks!" She Hearts Books Blog

I was born to make music and bring the masses to their knees . . . until, I wasn't anymore. Until the thought of doing all of this without him made me sick to my stomach.

Henley Hendrix survives a crash that kills her closest band mate. She’d like nothing more than to retire from music, to hide, to heal, to disappear. She’s tried. But her family is music royalty. Her brother is a rock star in his own right, and every friend she has is connected to the business one way or another.

I'll get sucked back in. I'm scared I won't survive rock-n-roll again. Won’t survive Jagger, won’t be able to put him back in the box.

Jagger Carlye is Henley’s dirty little secret. Rock god, her brother's best friend, part of his band, and someone who loves the guitar as much as she does. Henley’s loved him since she was a girl, but there are some things you don’t do in this world. One of them is that you don’t risk your brother’s band or your heart in an industry that feeds on rejection and scandal. Love might not be enough in a world that grinds you down and puts you in a fishbowl.

And then there is Kip. My best friend, a drummer who never shuts his mouth. I should've fallen in love with him. My world would be so much easier.

Henley comes back to the world of rock-n-roll, puts a toe in the water, and creates a ripple that will rock the safe little life she’s created for herself.

NOTE: This is a rock star romance series with a strong female lead, bad boys, and rock romance. If you are looking for a story of redemption with comic relief and a heavy sexual mind, you've found it. If you are offended by hot, tattooed rock stars, who are vulgar, then this is not the book for you. Please be warned, this book is not for anyone below the age of 18. The book contains sex, death, violence, and harsh language.

There's No Crying in Rock-N-Roll
The Guitar Face Series Book 2

Henley Hendrix—Queen of Rock-n-Roll—finds her world shattered and her heart betrayed, but is determined to get the band back together to reclaim her title in the world of rock. But when life continues to spin out of control, so does her behavior. Will she find her strength again amid all the chaos and pain, or will the bright lights consume her soul?

This is a rock star romance series with a strong female lead, bad boys, and rock romance. This book is not recommended for those under the age of 18. It is also not recommended for those who take offense to profanity, sexual situations, drugs, or violence. This is not a standalone novel. Book One Broken should be read first.

Walking Back to Georgia
The Guitar Face Series Book 3

I died. I fu*&ing died, and when I woke up in a Los Angeles hospital my best friend walked away from me. It wasn’t quite the welcoming back to the world of the living I thought I’d receive, and it rattled me.

After an overdose, Henley Hendrix retreats to Georgia to chase sobriety and get her life together. To do that, she’s got to keep her distance from Jagger and company. But when an old friend pops back into her life, a private moment is leaked to the world, and someone she never thought would walk away from her does exactly that.
She’s got to deal with rejection, a stalker, her return to the rock world for a promotional tour, jungle peepers, a riot of fans, a 1% motorcycle club, a one-eyed teddy bear, and two men fighting over her.

Just when she’s figured out how to finally be the best version of “Henley” she can be and how to stay healthy, her world is turned upside down again when her eyes are opened to something she never expected.

This book is not a stand-alone novel. Books 1 and 2 in the Guitar Face Series should be read first. If you are looking for a story of redemption with comic relief and a heavy sexual tone, you've found it. If you are offended by hot, tattooed rock stars, who are vulgar then this is not the book for you. Please be warned, this book is not for anyone below the age of 18. The book has sex, death, violence, and harsh language.

Book Review: Broken by Sasha Marshall

My Review:

This is my first book by this author and it won't be my last. This book is one roller coaster ride of emotion. I couldn't put it down. I laughed, I got pissed, and man did I cry, like where did the tissues go kind of crying. My fiance kept asking me what was so funny when I laughed.

Henley is a nice woman who has been grieving her best friend/ bandmate for years and decided to return to live and not just survive.

Henley aka Guitar Goddess is the prodigy guitar player. She comes from a line of guitar players and musicians. Henley's grandfather is her inspiration including his friends. They taught her to play, she had her own band by a young age and they are all her childhood friends. They made it in the music industry on there own merits.

The love story between Henley and Jagger is a slow-burn for a bit, then you get to see them fall in love and it feels amazing.

My only issue with this book is the damn cliff hanger! I would definitely recommend this book.

Thank you to Silver Dagger Book Tours and the author for the copy as part of the blog tour.

Blurb: Love is honorable but selfish. Love is a record of my wrongs. Love had fractured in trials but held on for the truth.
And the truth was he’d hurt me, yet I loved him. He’d left me, yet I followed him.
But I was done with Léo Baudin. And as soon as the semester was over, I would be done with Paris.
But until then, I would learn the rest of his secrets. The ones they whispered about behind his back. The ones that had the entire city watching his every move. The ones that held him hostage.
But to know his secrets meant to know him. And to know him was to fall further for the man who’d already hurt me so much.
I hated him for breaking my heart, but I should’ve learned by now that the things we loathe become the things we love.
And just when I thought there was nothing left to keep us apart, the ghosts of his past came back to life with a truth neither of us could’ve expected.
And lies that neither of us could’ve imagined.
As each layer unraveled, the choice between power and wisdom and love grew greater. And the consequences of our decision would be the judgment of this city.
But when all else fails, love always hopes. Against all odds, love always perseveres.
The Judgment of Paris is the second book in the Odyssey Duet.

Excerpt: “So, you don’t want this?” he pushed, his hand now gently cupping me. He was watching it—watching it squeeze the soft flesh and thumb over my nipple. He watched it like his hand didn’t belong to him, like after this moment he’d cut it from his body for betraying him. “You don’t want me to fuck you on this desk right now?”
“No,” I insisted, even as I pushed against his palm.
“Menteuse. I bet your little body has been begging for me. I bet that pussy of yours is soaked and clenching, desperate to be stretched and ripped by my cock. I bet your body wants to swallow me whole, right now.”
“I bet yours wants the same,” I shot back breathlessly. It was as close to admitting to it as I was going to get.
His thumb grazed along the edge of my tank, tracing the soft skin of my chest like he was teetering on a precipice of what was going to happen right now.
I wanted him to choose me.
I wanted him to need me.
But he never did.
“I don’t need your body, Miss Milanovic.” His hand dropped to the desk between us and his face drifted farther from mine. “If I did, I wouldn’t have left.”
I shriveled up and died. Right there. In the middle of the classroom, in the middle of Paris, and in the middle of everything that my life could have been.

Book Review: Better With You, Always by Gianna Gabriela

My Review:

I devoured this book the second I saw it on my kindle. This story is about Colton and Mia and the continuation of their love story. We first meet Mia & Colton in Better With You, Book 1 of The Bragan University Series and now its two years later. We see that Colton and Mia are still together and stronger than ever.

Colton devises a plan with the help of his friends and sister to send Mia on a tour of their relationship from when they met in their first college class, and through all the highs of their time together.

This story was absolute perfection for Mia and Colton, and really wraps up their relationship beautifully.

I received an advance copy of this book. I am voluntarily giving my honest review, and I plan to buy this book when it becomes available.

Book Review: Pretty Little Thing by Chelsea McDonald and Molly Storm

My Review:

I have read CM before but MS is a new author to me and I look forward to reading more from her. Pretty Little Things is the first cowrite by both authors and also the first book in the new series The Sapphires.

Orphaned at a young age, Angel is now a private investigator who is seeking revenge for her father’s murder.

Cohen, rejected by his dad, embraces the family within the Sapphires MC. Now Cohen is the president of the South Street Sapphires.

The chemistry is explosive between them from the moment they meet.

I really enjoyed this book and enjoyed the story line. I look forward to see where this series is headed. If you love MC books then you will love this!
